We have even MORE senior kitties joining our program,
and we're in URGENT need of guardians to care for these sweet souls.
~o0o~
SAM and JAKE: Here are Sam and Jake, 12yr old Labs that are the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. The owner and her family have fallen on hard times and have to leave their home very soon. They need to find a caring, capable foster for Sam and Jake asap. This could be a temporary situation, or possibly end up being longterm, depending upon how well the family recovers from their ordeal. The boys need to stay together. They won't be very demanding ~ seniors are content to spend the day more quietly than young pups. Sam and Jake are healthy and happy and have no medical issues. Contact Milagro for more information and to meet the boys. director@milagropets.org or 888.827.4103. Sam and Jake are up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
BISCUIT. (Courtesy listing) What a sweet, mellow old girl Biscuit is! She's a 12yr old Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix, delightfully low maintenance and gets along with other dogs, even tho she'd prefer to be your one-and-only. Biscuit came from a shelter that was closed down and is currently being cared for by Crystal. Biscuit is a little overweight (Crystal's been working on that) but in overall very good health, and, like most seniors, prefers to lounge around most of the day. She is a perfect companion and is hoping to spend the rest of her years with someone who will give her the love and kindness she so longs for. CONTACT Crystal Bentley at 480.255.8243 or banditlucky2@yahoo.com.
DALE. Dale was left alone in an apartment for several weeks before being discovered and rescued. Dale is 10 years old and just wants a quiet place to hang out. He loves the Sanctuary grounds where he can run and play and doesn't have any little kids or puppies bugging him. He has taken on a new job here - chasing the lizards that inhabit the grounds. He spends his time happily chasing them and waiting for them to poke their heads out to see if he is still there. Dale has had some trust issues with people but is slowly and surely learning to overcome them. He is just a really great fellow and enjoys welcoming everyone that comes for a visit. If you would like to meet sweet old Dale, and maybe invite him to become a loving part of your family, give us a holler. We'd love to have you come meet him. CONTACT Karen at info@mingusmanor.com or 602.296.5568.
WE ARE THRILLED TO REPORT THAT ANGEL HAS FOUND A LOVING NEW HOME AND IS SAFE AND SOUND AGAIN. PLEASE CONSIDER ONE OF OUR OTHER SENIORS WHO ARE STILL WAITING TO BE CHOSEN AND LOVED. THANK YOU!
NEMO: Nemo is a cool little dude! When he came to Milagro, he was only 6.5lbs and quite a mess. With good vetting, lots of love, and a healthy diet, he's now up to almost 8lbs - that's 8lbs of spitfire! Nemo is a Chihuahua/Beagle mix, about 12yrs old, and still very much in love with life. He runs and plays with toys and zooms the house and yard when he gets tickled. It's a real joy to see one of our seniors still so playful. When his little bursts of energy are over, he's your typical senior ~ loves to cuddle up with you and lounge about. Nemo's Milagro guardian was diagnosed with cancer, so we had to move Nemo to allow her to focus on healing, and we'd like to get him settled into a new guardian home as soon as possible. The ideal home for Nemo will have a pet-friendly yard with a doggie door, and most likely no cats or other dogs. He actually gets along very well with cats and dogs, but just prefers to be your "one and only." Please contact Jeannie at director@milagropets.org if you can give little Nemo a safe, loving home. Nemo will shower you with love and attention and bring lots of joy to your family.
BIRDY and DUCHEE. Birdy and Duchee are special seniors who lost their family and home due to foreclosure. They are bonded and we hope very much to place them together. Birdy loves to go for walks and play fetch with the tennis ball. She will pick up her food bowl and take it out to the grassy backyard and lay down and eat. So cute!! They are both great with kids young and old and other dogs (not sure about cats). Duchee is very laid back and likes to hang out. She`s not too interested in playing fetch but at the same time she is more alert and likes to patrol the backyard. Birdy and Duchee are perfect dogs ~ mellow couch potatoes in the house, active when you bring them outside. They will even take you for a bike ride if you stop pedaling and lift your feet. Although it appears that these girls were neglected and discarded, they are VERY sweet with no behavioral issues and still have a lot of love to give and life to live. Won`t you consider giving these special girls a home during their much deserving golden years? These would be the PERFECT dogs for someone who wants to have two, loving, loyal great companions and not have to go through the puppy phase. Please contact us to meet these precious souls.
FOXY and PUNKY. How lovely are these two little senior Calico girls! Sweet Foxy and Punky are hoping so much to find a new family to love and treasure them in their delicate senior years. They have been fully vetted, are in overall great health, and are ready and anxious to go, hoping and praying earnestly that you'll choose them. Foxy and Punky will bring lots of joy to one very lucky family. Contact Sherri at 480.860.9434 to meet them.
HONEY (01.02.10) We are happy to report that Honey has found her perfect new home and family. Congratulations, Honey, we wish you all the best! Sweet little Honey came to us today from the county pound where she was picked up as a stray. This poor little darling must have a very tragic story ~ we can only imagine. She's so frightened that she's pretty much shut down. She doesn't wag her tail or show any interest in anything or anyone yet. She hides in the corner of her kennel, curled up in a tiny ball. Her coat is matted and dirty, and she's covered in vomit and diarrhea. We're spending her first night here at Milagro keeping her calm and quiet, and letting her feel the rhythm of our home, showing her that she's safe here and she can trust us. In the morning, she'll go to the doggie spa to wash the old life away and enjoy some much-needed pampering. Hopefully in the next day or two, she'll begin to come out of her shell and we'll get to see the real Honey. UPDATE: 01.08.10 Honey is a whole new dog already! Boy, that day at the spa was just the ticket, along with a fluffy soft bed and lots of lovin'! This little girl is pure joy. She's housetrained, dog door trained, leash trained, she stands up and dances and twirls for treats, she's cat and dog-friendly, doesn't bark except for the doorbell, just a real delight. And beautiful ~ omigosh, Honey went from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. We're pretty sure Honey is an American Eskimo and German Shepherd mix. And she's only 20lbs, a great little size. Milagro is recruiting a very special guardian to care for little Honey. As she comes out of the frightened shell of her past, we suspect that she's been abused. She's going to need some assurance, a very gentle and patient person, to guide her toward a stable and happy life. If you'd like to be considered for the opportunity to bring happiness back to this precious soul, please contact us.
DAKOTA. This handsome fellow is Dakota, a 10 year old Coon Hound mix with a personality beyond words. Dakota trots like a horse because of arthritis in his hips and legs. He also has Horner's Syndrome, in which certain muscles of the face and head lose their nerve stimulation. He may not be much to look at, but he's a very sweet old boy that just melts your heart! He enjoys lying around the house and the sanctuary grounds, patrolling the front gate to keep us safe, and trying to make sense of the sheep! We are extremely happy to have to have rescued this boy and helped get him on track to a special new home and life. Milagro is taking applications for Dakota's placement. If you want to be considered to care for this precious dog, please contact us at Milagro: director@milagropets.org or 888.827.4103.
GUMBY. Gumby just arrived this month. He was deemed unadoptable because of a birth defect in one of his legs. It's about 2" longer than the other three legs, and causes him to hop. In fact, that's why he ended up homeless ~ his owners couldn't deal with the hopping. We think it's endearing and gives him style! Gumby is just the sweetest little boy and made himself right at home from the moment he came to the Sanctuary. His defect does not slow him down at all ~ he's very happy and runs, jumps and plays like a normal dog, and just loves his new toys! We're hoping to find that special family who can see the treasure that Gumby really is and will love and care tenderly for him as he enters his twilight years. If that's you, please contact Karen at info@mingusmanor.com or 602.296.5568.
GERTIE . We are happy to report that sweet Gertie has been chosen and is now enjoying her great new digs. This little ray of sunshine is Gertie, a senior Cocker Spaniel that we rescued from death row at the county pound. She's a full-figured little doll, full of joy and wiggles, and will really light up your home. She had an ear infection when we rescued her, but otherwise, Gertie is in very good health for her age. You just have to meet to Gertie to appreciate what an absolute darling sweetheart she is ~ if you want to meet Gertie and see if she's your next furry family member, please contact Deb at debsw40@msn.com or 623.606.6680.
CARE BEAR . ! ADOPTED ! WE WISH CARE BEAR ALL THE BEST IN HER HAPPY NEW HOME! PLEASE SEE OUR OTHER PRECIOUS SENIORS STILL WAITING FOR HOMES JUST LIKE CARE BEAR! Sweet Care Bear is 10 years old and appears to be a medium-size Lab/Shepherd mix (about 50lbs). Care Bear is the best of both worlds ~ affectionate, energetic AND perfectly house trained. And being an older gal, she’s delightfully on the calm side. Care Bear doesn’t chew, get in the trash, or beg for food, and she always waits patiently to go outside. She loves to play fetch and is great on a leash. She is pure joy ~ the perfect pet. To be considered to be this sweetheart's guardian, please contact us to schedule an introduction. director@milagropets.org or 888.827.4103.
BETTY. Betty is a gorgeous little 15 year old Calico kitty in need of a loving home for her twilight years. Her owner is moving and cannot take Betty along. Betty is spayed and in excellent health. She’s also very well mannered ~ uses her litterbox and scratching posts and isn’t at all destructive. Betty’s a real lovebug and enjoys giving lots of love and attention, and will even remind you when it’s bedtime ~ how cute is that! This little darling will quickly capture someone’s heart ~ is it you? Contact Judy at townsendjudy@gmail.com. ![]() MOJO. We are happy to report that Mojo has been chosen and is now enjoying his happy new digs! Meet Mr. Mojo. He's a very debonair, 5 year old, neutered male kitty. Mojo’s so handsome in his shiny black coat and striking yellow eyes. He's a really happy chatty fellow who enjoys your company and attention ~ a lap kitty who will follow you around and talk with you. He will even announce when it's time for him to be fed. Mojo is very playful and uses his scratching post ~ he is not destructive at all. Please choose Mojo for your next family pet. He’s got many years of love to give you in return for a caring home and family. Contact director@milagropets.org or 888.827.4103.
PHAROAH. We are happy to report that Pharoah has been chosen and is now enjoying his happy new digs! Pharaoh is a gorgeous 12 year old Blue Point Birman with clear blue eyes. Pharoah is very loving with an easygoing, mild temperament. He is a lap kitty who loves your company and will stay close by you. Pharoah’s in excellent health and still very playful for his age. He’s not destructive ~ uses his scratching post like a good boy. Pharoah is patiently waiting for someone to see what a treasure he is and offer him a loving home where he can enjoy growing old peacefully. Contact director@milagropets.org or 888.827.4103.
WE ARE THRILLED TO REPORT THAT PURTY HAS FOUND A LOVING NEW HOME AND IS SAFE AND SOUND AGAIN. PLEASE CONSIDER ONE OF OUR OTHER SENIORS WHO ARE STILL WAITING TO BE CHOSEN AND LOVED. THANK YOU! ![]() PURTY. We don't have much information yet on little Purty, other than she's been very well cared for, she's yearning for a loving new family, and time is of the essence. Milagro was notified of Purty's situation by her veterinarian, so we know that she's up to date on her medical care and in good health for her age. As we get more information about Purty, we'll post it here. In the meantime, please consider wrapping your heart around this darling little girl and giving her the security of a devoted home for her "golden girl" years. Contact Milagro at director@milagropets.org or 888.827.4103.
![]() BRUCE. Like Purty, Bruce was also brought to Milagro's attention by his veterinarian, who told us Bruce's owners are in desperate need to find Bruce a safe new home. Bruce is well cared for, healthy for his age, and a pretty happy guy. As we gather more information about Bruce, we'll post it here. Please consider this great little fellow to be your next new companion. Contact Milagro at director@milagropets.org or 888.827.4103.

![]() SASSY. Sweet little Sassy was surrendered because her owners could no long afford to take care of her. Sassy's a 7 year old Aussie/Rottie mix and a genuine sweetheart. Her owners had a very difficult time letting her go. Sassy has a deformity on her left front carpel, possibly from an old injury. It does not seem to bother her, and she gets around just fine. Sassy's great with dogs, cats, and kids. She walks beautifully on a leash. Just an all-around excellent family pet. One as sweet as this doesn't come along often, so better contact us quickly! Contact director@milagropets.org or 888.827.4103.
![]() DOLCE. Dolce is a sweet, healthy, 8yr old Terrier mix (possibly ShihTzu or Pug?) with a scruffy coat and a spunky personality to match. She's a full-figured girl, weighing about 30lbs. We rescued Dolce five years ago and she has been a very loved and special member of our family ever since. Unfortunately, Dolce and our other female dog have begun fighting with each other, so we've had to make the very hard decision to find Dolce a new home. Dolce would be at her best in a home where she can be the only dog or a home with no female dogs. She’s good with kids and cats, loves her walks and plays well with other dogs at the dog park, and she’ll make a wonderful companion for someone who is home most of the time. She is very smart, has no known medical problems, and is happiest just hanging out at your side. If you can just picture yourself all snuggled up with little Dolce in your arms, Please Contact Steve at 480.392.3212 or Allison at 602.903.0657.
